Film Festival SCHLINGEL

The extraordinary, brand-new and diverse productions on show at the SCHLINGEL International Film Festival for children and young audiences have been drawing thousands of young and old filmgoers from Chemnitz and the surrounding area to the CineStar in the Galerie Roter Turm every year in the week before the autumn holidays in Saxony.

Intercultural Weeks

Die Interkulturellen Wochen werden jährlich durch ein buntes Fest auf dem Neumarkt eröffnet.

Intercultural Week takes place across the Federal Republic annually around the end of September / start of October, under the same slogan throughout the country. In Chemnitz, meanwhile, Intercultural Week has turned into two Intercultural Weeks; the date is aligned with the federal celebrations, but also with the local calendar of events.

Industrial Culture

Smart Systems Campus

For years, Chemnitz has been one of the German cities with the strongest growth. Successful citizens gave commissions to artists, architects and designers, thereby making a lasting investment in the city’s attractiveness. Thanks to its consistently strong economy, Chemnitz has succeeded in maintaining, preserving and enhancing its urban landscape throughout all the social upheavals it has experienced.
