The new exhibition, which opened in September 2019, takes visitors through the history of aviation and airships to two largely unknown Saxon airship pioneers who tested airship models decades before Zeppelin and suffered tragic fates: Georg Baumgarten, Royal Saxon Chief Forester in Grüna, and Hermann Wölfert, publishing bookseller from Leipzig, ventured into the still virtually unexplored field of aviation as self-taught artists.
