Ebersdorfer Schulmuseum

Ebersdorf School Museum

Founded in October 1991, the Ebersdorfer Schulmuseum e.V. has set itself the goal of preserving schools and school history from the 19th century to the present day and making them accessible to the general public.

In historical lessons, children, young people and adults of all ages can find out how people taught and learnt in the days of the emperor or when their grandparents went to school. Wearing an apron and sailor's collar, museum visitors can imagine themselves back in the school of the imperial era and take a seat on the hard school desks of the time.

The focus is on learning the first basics of Sütterlin script on the slate, arithmetic with the abacus and writing with historical writing implements such as the stylus, goose quill or red pen.

The museum rooms are the historical classroom, the Ebersdorf photo corner, the room with the exhibition on the individual subjects, the technology room and the room on school history after 1945, which also houses activities and special exhibitions.

The museum rooms in Ebersdorf can also be used for class reunions in a historical setting, celebrations such as school commencement or birthdays, school and project work or simply for browsing through memories.
