Museum für sächsische Fahrzeuge Chemnitz
Museum for Saxon Vehicles Chemnitz
Big names such as DKW, Wanderer, MZ or Diamant, but also smaller brands such as Moll or ESWECO - they all have their place in the museum's exhibition. The more than 150 cars, motorbikes and bicycles are representative of the fact that Saxony was not only characterised by vehicle construction, but also played a key role in shaping it.
In the historic high-rise garage, built in 1928, visitors are taken on a journey through time from the end of the 19th century to the present day and are shown the inventions developed by resourceful minds, the racing successes celebrated here and the stories behind the vehicles.
The permanent exhibition with themed areas such as the "race track" or the historic workshop as well as the changing special exhibitions bring history back to life. And thanks to the vehicle meetings - from DKW to Jawa to Simson - the museum even shows vehicle history "in action" at times.
